Water Damage Restoration in Orange Park, FL

We take water damage restoration calls in Orange Park, about 52 minutes from central St. Augustine via I-95 and the Buckman Bridge in normal traffic. A bridge sits mid-drive, so we will tell you when traffic stretches it. What sets this town apart is water on two sides: the St. Johns River along River Road, where Irma took in condominiums and cars, and Doctors Lake to the south, which county officials named among the hardest-hit waters.

River Road homes, Doctors Lake and Club Continental

Know which water you are near. The town began in 1877 and incorporated in 1879, and the River Road Historic District runs alongside the St. Johns. Moosehaven, the 63-acre Moose retirement community, sits on the same riverfront. Expect wood-frame houses, condominiums and senior housing within a short stretch of road.

Irma showed the risk. Clay Today reported the river swallowing condominiums and cars at Club Continental on September 11, 2017. County officials later named Black Creek and Doctors Lake as the worst-hit area, and Doctors Lake connects to the St. Johns through Doctors Inlet, under US 17. Rain adds to that: NOAA's 1991 to 2020 normals for the Naval Air Station Jacksonville station, just down the river, show 47.6 inches a year, with June the wettest month at 7.3.

Check the west side too. McGirts Creek, a branch of the Ortega River, flooded Aquarius Concourse near Orange Park Mall during Irma, according to News4Jax. News4Jax placed that street in western Orange Park, well away from the St. Johns, so distance from the river is no free pass.

Water damage restoration in Orange Park's oldest streets

Use the street grid to date your house. The town history says Kingsley Avenue, River Road and Plainfield Avenue were laid out in 1877. National Register records put the River Road Historic District at about 1912 to 1940, and the Clarke House at 1039 Kingsley Avenue at 1912. Moosehaven was dedicated in 1922.

A home from those years may hold old plaster, wood floors and several decades of plumbing repairs, so we read each layer before anyone cuts. Kingsley Avenue ends at a river overlook, a reminder of how close these blocks sit to the St. Johns.

Park Avenue, Kingsley Avenue and town permit notes

Start with the town if you are inside its limits. Public Works handles water and sewer lines, lift stations, treatment plants and drainage, so a break on the street side is theirs to look at. Its Ash Street office keeps weekday hours of 7am to 3:30pm and its page lists no after-hours process, so check your bill for one. The Building Division lists its address at 2042 Park Avenue, and the town's forms include a floodplain permit application.

The town's flood page says Zones A, AE and AE Floodway are high-risk areas where development generally needs flood permits, and substantial improvements need elevation certificates. FEMA's map update may move some zones, so check your lot again: the town lists an appeal period through November 18, 2026, an effective date expected in Spring 2027, and a warning that appeals without technical data will be denied.

We have no reviews or project photos from Orange Park yet. What we can state: Clay County is in our service area, US 17 and Kingsley Avenue are the roads we use once off I-295, and the drive is about 52 minutes.

Coming over the Buckman Bridge: your visit

Call any time if water is moving. Calls go straight to owner Dal Beggs, who runs the company with his son, and we will say when we can be there. Everyday questions fit best between 7am and 7pm.

That 52 minutes assumes the Buckman is moving, so ask for a real time when you call. Do three things before we cross the bridge: stop the water at the main or the fixture, keep people out of wet rooms with power on, and take photos.

We show up, assess the damage and give a free estimate. You get a clear look at what is wet from moisture meters and thermal imaging. If you go ahead, expect water extraction, monitored drying with daily readings, and a written scope before heavy work.

What customers say

5.0 stars on Google from 8 reviews. Quoted as written.

“Highly recommend Dal and his team at 1 Call Restoration - great locally owned company. We had a pipe burst that flooded parts of our home - it was such a stressful situation for our family. Dal and his team were amazing through the whole process. They helped us get everything cleaned up and even helped us as we worked with our insurance. Super thankful for their expertise, quality work, responsiveness, and professionalism.”
Sara D., Google review, about June 2026
“Dal and his son are so compassionate and truly care about the human and do everything in their power to help your house back to normal. They were punctual and even showed back up to the house with any questions etc, I was very pleased with them and would recommend them to anyone who wants someone honest in this industry that unfortunately doesn’t have many honest companies in it. Dal and his crew have a customer life with us anytime we need their services.”

Orange Park questions

Does Orange Park town permitting apply to my address?

It depends on the town limit, because many Orange Park mailing addresses sit in unincorporated Clay County. Inside the town, ask the Building Division at 2042 Park Avenue. Outside it, ask the Clay County Building Division in Green Cove Springs. Whoever does the permitted repairs pulls the permit, and we can show them our moisture records and written scope.

Does the Doctors Lake side of Orange Park flood like the river side?

It can, and the county has said so. Clay County officials named Black Creek and Doctors Lake as the area Irma hit hardest. The lake is 13 square miles and joins the St. Johns through Doctors Inlet, so river surge can reach it. Look up your own lot on the FEMA map or the county's flood zone tools, since exposure changes street by street.
